New Special Collection - If you delete your Borrowed collection or Wish List, this is where you can choose to create a new one. New Folder - Creates a folder for further organization. New Collection from Selection - Creates a collection from the selected entries. New collections are by default included in the Library and marked with a blue collection icon. Services - The Pedia programs are all included in the Services menu with a 'Search selection with *pedia' command. Please refer to the Preferences page for more detailed information. The Preferences let you customize the program to your needs. (If you bought the program through the Mac App Store then this menu command will not appear.) If the command is greyed out, it means your copy of the program is registered already. Register Bookpedia - Select this command to register the program with your serial number. You can automate this process in the Preferences > General. Some menu commands are also included as a button on the toolbar and/or have a keyboard shortcut. (For the Edit menu only the Bookpedia specific command is addressed.) For information about general Apple menu commands, please refer to a Mac OS X manual or the Apple website. It will also import duplicates, so you might want to amend the AppleScript to do a search in iTunes first based on the title. Please note that this page primarily addresses Bookpedia-specific menu commands which is why the Windows menu is not included because it mainly contains general Apple commands. You can do this directly in Script Editor when it opens. The only issue I ran into with testing is that the path is quoted as a URL, so if you have any spaces in your folders you have to quickly run find "%20" and replace all for " ". ![]() Clicking export will generate an Applescript and actually open it up in Script Editor, were you can press the "Run" button to have it executed and your books imported. Set this_file to (POSIX file "")Īfter that you can select your collection in Bookpedia and use the File -> Export command and you will see "iTunes Export" as an option in the text export tab as template option. Create a text template by copying the below AppleScript template, taken from Doug's Scripts and saving it as iTunes Export.applescript in the following Bookpedia template folder ~/Library/Application Support/Bookpedia/Templates.Ĭode: Select all tell application "iTunes" ![]() Posts: 529 Joined: Sat 9:01 pm Location: Eugene Hopefully someone else has a more optimal solution to offer. That "add more than necessary then delete what's not" approach comes in handy in other contexts. Since it could take me awhile to learn enough to generate the file list my method of getting results you want would be less elegant (and still time consuming): iTunes import files that'll include all those of interest, then delete any unwanted iTunes items. After you've got that list it's relatively easy to iTunes import the files (either leaving them in current locations or copying them into iTuned Media folder locations). ![]() Is there any Spotlight metadata or other criteria outside of Bookpedia you could use to match the ~430 files of interest? If not, generating a file list from a Bookpedia collection could be done using sqlite commands on the database or extracted from File > Export Collection… (Command-S) XML output. I don't think it's possible to iTunes import eBook epub files directly from their link references in Bookpedia entries.
